       Brian Baker

On behalf of the vestry and staff, I would like to thank all those who have been generously supporting the ministry of Trinity Cathedral.  Your financial contributions are essential for the transformation people experience here.

We are a few weeks into our pledge drive for 2015.  As of now, we have received 241 pledges totaling $690,955 pledged.   For 2014, we received 354 pledges totaling almost $970,000.  Which means we need to receive 113 pledges totaling $279,045 to match our fundraising from last year.  To reach our fundraising goal, we need 131 more pledges totaling $327,545.

In our current, 2014 budget, we have received  $784,243 in pledge income.  That leaves a balance of $185,757 of the $970,000 pledged for the year.

As the year draws to a close, please consider completing your pledge for 2014 and renewing your support for 2015.  Your financial gifts make this remarkable congregation possible.

NOTE: There will be a Christmas pageant this Sunday at 9:00 am.  No sermon.  Walk-ons are welcome.

Blessings,

Brian

Our Stephen Ministers are ready to provide confidential, one-on-one care. They will listen, encourage, pray with and for you, and support you through the holidays and as long as your need persists. A Christmas Carol

Facilitator: Susan Hotchkiss

"A Christmas Carol" has been a holiday favorite for over 150 years. Written as a novella by English author Charles Dickens in 1843, it has been produced for stage and screen a multitude of times. During Advent here at Trinity, we will have the opportunity to view the movie, hear about the work's historical significance and discuss how the themes are still important in our spiritual lives today.

VOCAL ART ENSEMBLE "NATIVUS"
Friday, December 12
at 7:30 pm

"NATIVUS: interpreting the Saga through song" will feature a program of carols and music to carry us through the journey of Mary and Joseph. Artistic director Tracia Barbieri has developed a reputation for original and creative programming. This choral drama portrays 14th-century carols alongside premiere works composed expressly for this production, and spotlights rich refrains of long-ago times and far-reaching cultures.

VAE sets the stage for an imaginative journey in which choral music, narration, and haunting tableaux depict a blessed event that travels through tragedy and triumph. Narration by Adam Sartain of the Davis Musical Theater Company.

Please come and enjoy this stop on our Advent pilgrimage. Suggested donation at the door $6-20.

Good Rain....but

by Ann Rothschild

Thank you, God, for replenishing rain and that beautiful rainbow, but we realize our water stores are still at half-full so we hope you will send more. And no, we will not return to our water-guzzling ways. Our sprinklers are turned off for the whole winter, and we will continue to conserve in the following ways:   low-flow shower heads, short showers, use of grey water for the big trees, a bowl of water for washing up-never running water.

Floyd School
