  TRINITY EPISCOPAL CATHEDRAL

Ash Wednesday

"A Growing community making disciples who love and
serve Christ and His world"

Greetings!

Brian Baker Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday!  I encourage you, if you can, to make it to Trinity Cathedral for the imposition of the ashes.  We have 5 services, 7am, 9am, 12:10pm and 6pm with a special service at 4pm for children and families.  We will also have four outdoor stations from 11am to 2pm: Trinity Cathedral, St. Paul's Church, the west steps of the Capitol and Cesar Chavez Park.

Ash Wednesday is one of my favorite days of the year.  I appreciate the invitation to consider my mortality.  So much of what I cling to or obsess about is fleeting.  I am dust.  AND I am more than dust.  The part of me that is more than dust is the part that is connected to the eternal, connected to God.  In Lent we are encouraged to focus on that which is real and lasting, rather than that which will pass away.

I invite you to a holy Lent and encourage you to come tomorrow if you can.

Blessings,

Brian
