Rector's Reflections: Trinity Sunday Blessing
God is one. God is three. Go figure! The 4th century was pivotal for the Church's understanding of the Trinity. Several great Councils discussed, argued and even threatened for their concept to prevail. It was not a high point for Christian unity. And yet, the doctrine has unified the Church ever since. God is so beyond our comprehension, that we understand God in sharing his love for us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Anglicans take their theology from the way they worship. From Trinity Sunday, we have the great pronouncement of God's full and complete love for us. No wonder we begin the services by saying: "Blessed be God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit."

Peace,

 Larry

A Note from Rev. Dr. Peter Gustin

Dear Rector, Wardens, Vestry and People of Good Shepherd,

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Your unspeakably generous gift arrived and filled my heart with gratitude.  Expenses for my various ailments were piling up and leading to stress that does not help the healing process. Your gift removed the stress and strengthened my faith beyond description. Debi and I thank you for your abiding kindness, prayers and good wishes.

With deepest gratitude,

Pete Gustin

Did You Know?
  • Randi Rowe begins her new field work assignment at St. John's (McLean) and returns after July 27.  While on leave, the Diocese assumes her financial support.
    • This assignment is in partial fulfillment of ordination requirements.
  • Did you make a pledge to Love Finds a Way Fund?  Please double check to make sure you are keeping up with it since the salaries of Randi Rowe and Brian Walsh (and related expenses) are tied into it.
