Sharing the Power of Stories
September 2014
Happy September, friends!

September, much like the onset of Spring, gives one a sense of opportunity and potential.  Instead of breathing in the new life that comes with Springtime renewal, folks are preparing for an impending change of seasons, shorter days, more structured schedules, and busy daily routines that Summer forgives.

Perhaps this time of year, more than any other, calls for self-care and an attentiveness to actively practicing ways that will nurture your soul.  In light of this, I'd like to share a reminder poem and daily tip of inspiration featured in Live the Life of Your Dreams: 33 Tips for Inspired Living

A New Beginning
Susan Coolidge

Every day is a fresh new beginning, Listen my soul to the glad refrain. And, spite of old sorrows and older sinning,
Troubles forecasted and possible pain, take heart with the day, and begin again.

Inspired Idea for Daily Life

Tip #30: Surround Yourself with Happiness Objects.
Examples include: picture of your son or daughter as the home screen on your cellular phone or computer, a ruby red flower, a picture of your favorite memory.

Enjoy this inspirational month which provides you with ample opportunities to slow down and reflect - it may not feel like it, but as demands grow, so do opportunities for reflection and cultivating inner peace.

Share your favorite practices on Facebook or Twitter.

Peace & Blessings,

The Yankee Club

By Michael Murphy

Mysteries are not typically in my library of review (or leisure) reading, but when I was asked to read The Yankee Club, I was intrigued. The reviews on Amazon had been so positive, and the setting was absolutely compelling. This prohibition era mystery is a total page turner - filled with twists, turns and suspense with a subtle levity that keeps the reader on her proverbial toes. Michael Murphy has written a historical non-fiction piece - first in a series, and it is a story that is as eloquently told as it is creatively translated from the Thin Man series - its source for inspiration. Mystery lovers, you'll love it. Historical non-fiction fans, this is for you.

Divine Attunement: Music as a Path to Wisdom
By Yuval Ron

After corresponding with author Yuval Ron, I was immediately struck. He is what I consider an enlightened being - with a conscious acknowledgement that we are here for a purpose beyond ourselves. His words and spirit remind of a unity we all share across the globe.
