NAMI Maryland Partners with the Mental Health Channel

NAMI Maryland recently entered into a partnership with the newly created Mental Health Channel by hosting a launch event and reception on June 8.  The Mental Health Channel is an online network that's changing the conversation about mental health through inspiring true stories.  With a series of 12 short documentaries already online, MHC provides a wide array of mental health topics in often entertaining and unexpected ways.  With the help of NAMI Maryland, the channel will continue to create and upload more content.

NAMI Maryland Annual Meeting

On June 14, 2015, NAMI Maryland held its Annual Meeting to elect its new Board of Directors. Members of NAMI Maryland and its various affiliates gathered at the Howard County Public Library to elect new members to the Board of Directors, hear the organization's Annual Report and give out awards for the recently completed NAMIWalks Maryland.  

The newly elected Board members are: Argin Hutchins, Zereana Jess-Huff, Matt Myers, Don Slater, Deneice Valentine and Jared Wilmer.

Among the awards given out were:  Top Walker, Jane Wasser, NAMI Howard County; Top Walker Runner Up, Mimi Kress, NAMI Montgomery County; Top Fundraising Affiliate, NAMI Howard County; Top Fundraising Affiliate Runner Up, NAMI Metro Baltimore; Top Team, Team Alkermes; and Outstanding Affiliate Coordinator, Michell Long, NAMI Prince George's County.
