Greetings!
It's Memorial Day Weekend, which means a very light schedule of organized sports. One exception is the annual Sterling Invite, a top girl's softball tournament spread over 2 complexes. We'll also preview the beginning of what will prove to be a June packed with events.

The Complete the Loop Coalition has recently completed a video that provides a great visual for the expansion plans for the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail. Basically, the planned trail extension is 5 miles, stretching from Oldabashian Bridge to Lincoln Rock State Park, on the Douglas County side of the Columbia River.
The trail is to be constructed entirely on public property currently owned by the Washington State Department of Transportation and the Chelan County PUD. Plans are for the Trail to be extended in 3 phases, with a total cost of approximately $5 million dollars. Construction of the north mile starting at Lincoln Rock State Park and extending south to a Rocky Reach Dam overlook is scheduled to begin this summer, but more funding is needed to complete the south 4 miles connecting Rocky Reach Trail to the Loop Trail. Additional Trail Info.
