Beaverton's future is BRIGHT! What an incredible community we have. The voters clearly recognize the future depends on our youth and education as well as having a safe community - both the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue levy and the Beaverton School District's Bond Measure passed on Tuesday. This is huge when it comes to business and job retention and attraction.

Going hand in hand with the bond and levy decisions, the citizens of Beaverton, have elected or re-elected business friendly candidates that understand a healthy business climate is the foundation of a strong and funded community. Congratulations to our Chamber endorsed candidates!

A Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce Initiative

Beaverton Business Walk....

We did it! Huge thanks to the 27 teams of 2 that hit the pavement last Thursday. We knocked on 500 doors and talked with 357 businesses. The difference between these numbers is the occupancy we found in going door to door. We asked three questions 1. How is business? 2. How is doing business in Beaverton? and 3. What keeps you up at night - what is your biggest challenge?

Results are being compiled and will be available shortly on our website, but generally speaking here is what we found:

1. Business is good, great, or growing over all! Resoundingly!

2. Doing business in Beaverton is good or great!

3. The biggest challenges are 1) Workforce - getting quality employees to fill job openings 2) global competitiveness (keeping margins where they can remain profitable) 3) business regulations and the unstable healthcare situation we are in 4) transportation - freight mobility and congestion for commuting.

We found 5 businesses that are in growth mode that we can assist to find space to hopefully keep them in Beaverton, we found a business opportunity to explore over in the Western & Artic area based on feedback and will look to recruit a solution, and we've found a whole lot of vacancies that we can now compile and brainstorm recruitment activity towards those business that match the space available.

The IMPACT*Beaverton team will be getting together shortly to plan our next steps and outreach.

We are giving away a free roof, siding and windows to a family in need in WASHINGTON COUNTY! Please click on the image above to nominate a struggling family.

The site says roofing, but we are adding free siding and windows for the winner as well :).  We want to help someone in our community. Spread the word and ask around for nominees. Timing is almost up. Tell your vendors, co-workers, employees and friends.
Just think how happy a family will be that YOU were able to help. This family's story is important and we want to hear it!
Thanks so much -
