I'm Toni Carmean, offering counseling in Beaverton, Oregon. I have a decade of experience helping people cope with difficult experiences. My clients include people experiencing sadness over the loss of a loved one, survivors of abuse who may also be suffering from ambivalent loss due to the death of an abuser. I specialize primarily in thanatology - the study of death, dying and bereavement. I help people as they go through the process of grief and loss. I also work with people diagnosed with bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. |

Greetings!
*Special two week issue*
What a fun and grand time we had at our Annual Meeting & Holiday Auction. Thank you to all of you that contributed, came and attended, shopped and had fun with us last Thursday evening. Thank you to Arcadia Security for sponsoring and providing such a delightful evening in recognition of our outstanding volunteers and board.
2012 Ambassador of the Year - Roy Stanfill, TransAmerica Financial Advisors
2012 Rising Star, Caleb Johnson, Pacific Continental Bank
2012 Community Partner, Beaverto Pacific Continental Bank
Thank you to Greg Helton Photography for the beautiful pictures....View here.
Thanks also to our legislative Representatives and Senators for supporting the legislation that will ensure Nike's continued investment and job creation in Oregon. We were thrilled to hear the comments on the floor of both houses indicating that ongoing conversations need to be had to ensure the same predictability and stability in taxation for all businesses in Oregon.
We wish all of you a very safe, happy and wonderful Christmas and holiday season and we look forward to the new year and all it will bring.
Finish your week strong & productively!
Sincerely, Lorraine Clarno, President/CEO, ACE Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce 503.350.2006

Strengthening the Local Economy...
The Chamber urges the Beaverton City Council to move foward with the space planning decisions for City Hall and Police immediately in the new year. We strongly encourage general adminstrative city services to relocate to the South Office Building and look forward to advocating for a new public safety center in 2013.

Representing Business to Government...
Our Business Advocacy Council focuses on issues that directly impact businesses that most owners/managers do not have time to stay on top of but count on the Chamber to do so and be their voice.
NEXT MEETING: Thursday, January 3rd, 2013
TOPIC - Final touches on our Legislative Agenda for 2013 session
We meet monthly on the first Thursday at 7:30am - 8:30am in our down stairs conference room. Feel free to contact Lorraine if you have any questions. We'd love to have you.
All Business Advocacy Council Meetings are open to all members (appointed or not!). If you "get" the connection between monitoring regulations, ensuring business has input at the table on issues such as transportation, taxation and more...you should come and participate. All ideas and opinions are welcome.

Membership Corner
Coming in 2013 - Sponsor a new member & Save on your dues! Changes to our referral program.
Is there ever anything such as "too much of a good thing"?
Yes indeed there can be. We have a group of amazing supporters that champion the Beaverton Chamber and membership all day - every day, and every where they do business. We are so very grateful for their constant efforts.
Sometimes this results in a wee bit of a challenge when awarding the referral fee (especially when we have to choose one member over another to reap the reward). We do not want to put the new member in any uncomfortable situation when they are asked to put a sponsor down and they share with us that more than one fabulous member recruited them. So............Introducing the Coin Toss! As needed, at a Friday Coffee Connection, we'll be hosting a referral coin toss where everyone can see and celebrate our awesome recruiters.
Every member is eligible to earn 3 vouchers in a calendar year towards their dues- that is $75! Keep them coming - as the Chamber grows - our members grow too!
