MASSENGILL MIDDLE EAST MINUTE                                   February 2015

Greetings from Texas! We are on the road visiting churches in the Lone Star State before we head to Oklahoma. We first want to welcome those who are receiving our newsletter for the first time. Also we would like to thank the churches we have visited thus far for welcoming our family and supporting our ministry. We have 3 more months of fundraising before heading back to the UAE at the end of May. Please keep us in prayer that we will raise enough funds to keep us on the field for a minimum of 3 years.
On The Road

During the month of February we spent most of the month on the road traveling throughout Florida, a couple of weekends in Alabama, and then out here to Texas. Along the way, we had a hotel celebration for Kari's birthday. Can you believe she is still 22 years old? During the month, we slept in 9 different beds. Although it is not easy, we are thankful that God keeps us safe and provides those places to sleep. Also, for spending so much time in a car, Leandra and Kendra almost never complain. Please keep us in prayer as we continue to travel. We have never had an accident, and the only car trouble we ever had in almost 20 years of missionary service was one time when I forgot to put the cap back on the gas tank. God has been so faithful and we are so thankful to Him for watching over us so carefully.
A Thousand Goodbyes

Itinerating is the most difficult aspect of being a missionary.  While there are many reasons for this, one is constantly saying goodbye to people.  We meet so many great people while traveling through the US only to say goodbye to them after a few hours, or at best a couple of days. We never get use to doing this, and it has especially been hard on Leandra & Kendra. There are few churches we visit where they do not cry when we leave. Sometimes they meet other little girls, and sometimes it is a Sunday school teacher or the pastor's wife. A day will come when goodbyes will end, but until then, please keep our family in prayer. Yes, we need the finances to go back to the field, but we also need prayer for the strength to continue the emotional roller-coaster that is missionary itineration.

Finally Graduating

For almost 8 years I have been working on my doctorate, but on May 2nd I will finally graduate. My motivation in continuing my education has always been to be the best missionary I can be. The amount of work was more than I could have ever dreamed but now that I am at the end I am so thankful for the process. I have learned so much & thank God for the opportunity. I am also looking forward to reading a book because I want to instead of because I have to :-)
Churches Still Needed

Church
We still have several dates open that we need churches for. Please contact ASAP if your church would like for us to come share our ministry at any of the following dates:

March 22 pm service (within 4 hours of Birmingham, Alabama)

March 29 pm service (within 4 hours of South Pittsburg, TN)

April 26  both services

May 24 pm service (within 4 hours of Clanton, Alabama)
We are so thankful for everyone who prays and supports the work God has given us in the Middle East. Please keep us in prayer as we continue to raise the support we need to get back to the UAE. God bless you for your faithfulness to His Great Commission.

Leandra' Corner

Hello again. February was a busy month. It felt like we lived in a car. But as you can see by my picture... IT SNOWED!!! Every since we left Germany, I have missed snow. Just a couple of days before we left for Texas, we got 9 inches at my granny's house. Another cool thing that happened this month was I got to speak in a children's church about our work in the Middle East. I was really nervous but think I did ok. Also daddy gave me an offering. He also said when I get older, he and mommy will stay at home and let Kendra & I visit all the churches... I think he is just kidding!!!

What's Up? Everything is good with me because now it snowed. I prayed for the snow everyday when we got back to America & God answered my prayer. Daddy always says that God cares about the little things in our lives, & although snow is a little thing... it still snowed. Another thing is that in one of the hotels we stayed at daddy took me in the pool & taught me to go under water. I have always been really afraid of that, which made me afraid of being baptized. Not anymore. So, I am planning on getting baptized soon. It is hard because I want to be baptized now, but in some ways I want to do it in the UAE too. Pray for me!
