Massengill Middle East Minute

Greetings from... Alabama! We have now been in the United States for about a week & will soon begin traveling to churches to raise the support we need to return to our work in the Middle East. Although we love seeing family & friends again, our hearts are heavy to not be in the Middle East doing what God has called us to do. Please be in prayer that we can raise enough funds over the next 5 1/2 months so that when we return to the UAE on May 31st.

COG UAE Welcomes Mark Williams

The weeks leading up to our family returning to the United States for itineration were quite busy. Every December, the Church of God churches in the United Arab Emirates come together to celebrate what Jesus has done in the nation during that year. This year, the main speaker of this service was Dr. Mark Williams, General Overseer of the Church of God. This was very encouraging to the pastors & members of our churches who face considerable obstacles & dangers in their ministry. Please continue to pray for these dedicated men & women who commit their lives to serving the cause of Christ in the heart of the Islamic world.

Into the Harvest

Also before leaving the UAE, we celebrated the graduation of the of the seminary we work with in the UAE. 35 men & women graduated. Many are already in ministry & the others will soon be entering the ministry.  Biblical education & ministerial training in the Middle East is a major need among the relatively small group of churches scattered throughout the region. Resources are few & the challenges are tremendous, but Christian men & women are lining up to get into our small seminary.  Our faculty is small, and since we will be spending the next 5 1/2 months in America, other teachers will need to teach our classes. Please keep both students & teachers in prayer as they seek to equip kingdom workers for the harvest in the most unreached places in the world.
Churches Needed

Church
As we have mentioned in past newsletters, our UAE visa only allows us to be out of the country for 5 1/2 months. If we stay longer than that, we lose the visa & it could be very difficult & expensive to get it back. So, if we do not raise the funds we need before May 31st, we will have to return to the UAE for 2 weeks, and then return to the US for another 5 1/2 months. We still have a lot of open dates in our schedule & desperately need to schedule more churches. If your church would be interested in our family coming to share our ministry, please contact us as soon as possible. You can contact us by calling or emailing at the following:

We are so grateful for everyone who supports us so faithfully. Our work is only possible through God's people being committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by bringing the gospel to the unreached places of the earth. We thank you for partnering with us to do just that. Our ministry is committed to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ into the heart of the Islamic world. With your prayer and support, those who have never heard the gospel will come to know the greatest message anyone has ever had the privilege to deliver.

Leandra's Corner

Hello from Alabama! Although I am happy to be back with my granny & papa, I actually really miss the UAE. My mom and I were having a lot of opportunities to share the gospel with our Hindu neighbors. Mom even gave them a Bible. Again, I love being here, but the feelings are very confusing. Also, yesterday, I celebrated my 9th birthday. Of course my granny and papaw are spoiling me to death, but I think when God puts a place in your heart and calls you to work there, no where else will be as important as that place. Please pray for me and pray that we will raise the money we need to get back to our work. I might be just 9 years old, but God has a plan for me in the UAE just like he does mommy and daddy. In fact, God has a place for all of us to make sure those who never hear about Jesus will get to know him and one day believe in him.

What up from cold Alabama! I know it is not as cold as many places but considering the weather in the UAE, it is freezing. Like Leandra, I am happy to be here but miss our friends in the UAE. I also had a birthday a few days ago, and my granny & papaw took me to Chuck-E-Cheese. Daddy says it is a place were you eat bad pizza & smell kid's feet, but I like it. They also got me an ice cream cake which was awesome. Another cool thing that happened to me is after we spent 30 hours traveling from our home to the UAE to my granny's house in Alabama, I lost my first tooth.  It makes it hard eating my favorite food, corn on the cob, but granny gave me a little money. That is a great deal. She gets a useless tooth, and I get some cash! I will take that everyday!
