Massengill Middle East Minute: August-September

Greetings from the Middle East. Sorry we are late on the latest newsletter but this has been a crazy month. From weddings, to teaching & some awesome church services, God is continuing to open door after door. While we look forward to seeing family & friends in the US in December, it is going to be really hard to leave our ministry here. 

New Connections

Through a couple of my students at our seminary we have made a connection with a recently planted church in Dubai. Last week they celebrated their first year as a church & we were invited to come & share the Word. It was such a blessing & over 20 went from darkness to the Light. The church has been such a blessing to us & there is no limit to what God can do through this new connection. Please pray for this church as they face so many obstacles but are determined to see God glorified through their lives. 

"I Do!"

On the field there are so many things we experience for the first time. We have baptized people in the shower, I have preached sermons with a church so full people were literally standing beside me and less than a foot in front of me, we have been stopped by a policeman so he could ask us for a ride to the next town & now we have preformed a wedding in our living room. There was a precious couple in our church that had no money for a formal wedding, decorations, or even flowers. They barely survive financially but they love each other & wanted to get married. So, we arranged for a small ceremony in our house & they are now husband & wife. While big wedding can be beautiful & nice, the vows do state "for richer or poorer" and this couple proved you do not have to have flowers, decorations or even a big church to have a beautiful wedding... all you need is two people who really love each other no matter what they do... or do not have. Please pray for Selena & Succoro because all they seek is that God is glorified through their lives & marriage.  

More to Say

On Monday my seminary classes will come to an end. Graduation will be in December just before we return to the US. While I love meeting new students, it is always hard to say goodbye to those moving on. Through the last 18 years God has brought so many wonderful men & women of God into our lives. In this part of the world teaching people to obey the commands of Christ & fulfill the Great Commission can come with a heavy cost. So many in this part of the world suffer so much for their faith. We can & should pray for their protection, but as in the book of Acts, even more let us pray that they be endued with the power and boldness of the Holy Spirit to continue preaching the Good News to those who have still yet to hear it.
