Alumni

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year from all of us to all of you! We hope that you had a restful holiday season and are excited to take on 2015.

We also hope you'll continue to join us this year in our efforts to provide every child in Canada who needs a Mentor, with a Mentor. Each time we pair a child with a mentor or introduce a group of students to an in-school program, we start something incredible - a life-changing relationship built on friendship, trust and empowerment.

Whether it's in the form of time or money there is no more important investment we as individuals can make than in helping our nation's children realize - and share - their full potential.

We can't wait to Start Something BIG again in 2015 and for the opportunity to continue to change the course of even more young lives across our great nation with your generous support!

Make a Note of Mentoring Contest!

Do you love to sing? Do you have a friend, family member, or know a group that love music? If so, then we invite you to take part, and encourage you to spread the word about our Make a Note of Mentoring Contest which opens for entries on January 12th, 2014

During the 100th anniversary of Big Brothers Big Sisters in 2013, The Tenors partnered with us to launch the song 'I Thank You' which honors mentors and highlights the unique and transformative relationship. This contest invites everyone to take part by interpreting the song 'I Thank You', and capturing that interpretation on video. Each individual/musical act/band/choir will be encouraged to share their recording of the song and encourage their network of friends, supporters, etc. to vote for them.

The top 15 submissions with the most votes will each receive $1,000 back from Big Brothers Big Sisters, plus a panel of three judges will choose one of the top 15 acts with the most votes to also win the GRAND PRIZE of a private jam session with The Tenors!

We invite you to Make a Note of Mentoring. Full contest rules can be found here, or by clicking the image below.

Today's Quote

"We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say 'It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.' Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes." - Fred Rogers
