Support Mentoring on #GivingTuesday

We've all heard about Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but have you heard about GivingTuesday?

GivingTuesday is a new-to-Canada movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year right after Cyber Monday. As the season of giving begins, GivingTuesday is a day where charities, companies, and individuals all join together to rally for favourite causes and to think of others.

On December 3rd, please take a moment to get involved by giving back. Click below to view the video and to learn more about GivingTuesday.

Riley's Success Story

I am one of the fortunate recipients of the CIBC Youthvision Scholarship....I wanted to personally thank you for the variety of opportunities that this scholarship has provided for me.

The CIBC Youthvision Scholarship allowed me to attend the University of Victoria, which I could not be more grateful for. It has truly been a wonderful experience. In my first year, I was able to live in residence where I made lasting friendships and strong connections with the Community Leaders (CL). In the year following, I was able to assumed a leadership role as a CL within the residence community. As a CL, I was responsible for a building a community within residence for first year students as well as to support the residents with any issues that may arise to ensure that their first year at Uvic goes as smoothly as possible. Then during my third and fourth years I became involved with Students Offering Support. Students Offering Support is a student lead nonprofit organization that provides lecture styled review sessions before midterms and final exams. The money raised in the review sessions would then go towards education development projects in Latin America. My studies at Uvic have endowed me with a very stimulating academic experience. I had the privilege to study under a multitude of inspirational professors, all of whom have expanded both my love and my knowledge of mathematics.

As I am finishing my final year...
