Greetings!

Judi is on vacation this week. Any ideas on how I can get into trouble?? I'm pretty sure you do! I did promise I would not blow anything up so that's out... other suggestions? Any big mischief should probably be saved for after the board meeting tomorrow so they can't fire me right off. :)

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ!! My first big adventure will be to launch our new website. Yes, you heard me, a NEW website. The old one is glitchy and hard to navigate. The new one is sleek, cool and easy! The first thing you need to know is that the public and volunteer sites will now be combined. You will just go to www.nhgsa.com and look for the link in the top green navigation line that says "FOR CURRENT VOLUNTEERS" (left side).

I will be launching the new site over the weekend or beginning of the week. For techie reasons you don't want to know, THE SITE WILL GO OFFLINE for up to 2 days and will need some tweaking and repairs once it gets to its new destination. Please be patient next week and plan ahead. Your center managers can always access the calendar system so please contact them directly if you need to sign up or delete a shift. I will be covering the airport for Judi.

Remember, once the new site is up - www.nhgsa.com/gsa will no longer work. Go to www.nhgsa.com. Spread the word!

Thanks,
Kelly

GSA Louise Lachance named an Outstanding Woman by 95.7 WZID
On February 16th, 95.7 WZID honored the winners of their "20 Outstanding Women Contest" at the Women's Expo at the Radisson and our own GSA Louise Lachance was named one of the 20! Congratulations! Louise was a member of the Sprint Class of 2002 and has 1059.5 hours of volunteer service as a GSA.

"My grandmother volunteers her time to help out her church, the elderly, and spends a lot of time with her grandchildren." That is how 10-year-old Paige describes Louise Lachance, her grandmother, retired as an Administrative Assistant with the New Hampshire Community Technical College in Manchester and focused her time on her family and the needs of her community. Louise helps out with clothing and food drives at her church and knits hats and blankets for newborn babies at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester. She does "chores" or errands for the elderly, and she is also the best grandmother ever to Paige, Coleton, William, and Mary!

Jim Eddinger
Class of Common Man 2010

"There are many excellent lodging accommodations in the greater Manchester area. In my travels I have stayed at a LaQuinta hotel as we find it has a friendly staff with knowledge of the area.

We have such a facility in the northwest area of Manchester just off rte 293.  It is a new facility with all the conveniences for a one night or extended stay.

Shuttle service is available from the airport, clean rooms, laundry facility, a very nice full breakfast available every morning.  It is pet friendly and has free wifi.  It is easily accessible to shopping and downtown Manchester for restaurants and night life."
Virtual Tour: Museum of the White Mountains
Opens February 23

The Museum of the White Mountains on the Plymouth State University campus will preserve and promote the unique history, culture, and environmental legacy of the region; as well as provide unique collections-based, archival, and digital learning resources serving researchers, students, and the public.
Passing Through: The Allure of the White Mountains
Passing Through: The Allure of the White Mountains

The museum's inaugural exhibition combines images, interpretive panels, films and interactive technologies to invite visitors to question the influence of time and space on human connections with nature. Focusing on five distinct areas-Crawford Notch, Mount Washington Valley (eastern slopes), the summit of Mount Washington, the Northern Presidentials, and Franconia Notch-visitors will think more deeply about the White Mountain region and the evolving human experience of it.
