Happy Valentines Day

Lots to share this week. Be sure you read about our new intern Amanda. She is very enthusiastic and anxious to meet you. I can't wait to meet her myself!
Naomi asked me to extend an extra thank you to those of you who braved the elements to volunteer at this year's Farm & Forest Expo during the blizzard. Take a peek at the article about the expo below. Hope you all survived the storm unscathed! ~Kel
The Waterville Valley Region Chamber of Commerce has a new name! Last night at an open house celebration the chamber announced their new name, "The Pemi Valley Chamber of Commerce." They would like to invite GSAs to come up and volunteer at their newly renovated center at Exit 28. The inside is all new and I might add quite beautiful. February vacation weeks are busy there and they are hoping you are available to volunteer.
Judi is headed out on vacation Feb 20-27
Your staff will be still be here working hard on your behalf. If you need anything at all don't hesitate to contact any of us. You can find our information and basic job descriptions on our website's contact page on www.nhgsa.com.

My New Internship with NHGSA
By Amanda Marotto | Intern and Student (SNHU)
Hello everyone, let me introduce myself, my name is Amanda Marotto. I am extremely pleased to say that I am the new GSA Marketing and Social Media Intern. I look forward to working with all the GSA's and volunteers in pursuit of increasing awareness and interest for the organization. Having met Judi at the Nackey S. Loeb School in her class, Advanced Social Media, I was intrigued by the Granite State Ambassador organization.

A Snowy Farm and Forest Expo
By Naomi Halter, GSA staff
The Granite State Ambassadors braved the elements on Friday, February 8 to volunteer at the 30th annual Farm and Forest Expo. The Expo went on as scheduled until "Winter Storm Nemo" dumped almost two feet of snow on Manchester and closed the festivities early. Mother Nature must have decided that the Expo needed something special for its 30th anniversary!

GSAs Bouncing on the Beds
by Eileen Herring Education and Tour Manager
I have only worked for the GSAs for a short time, but one thing I learned when we toured the recently renovated LaQuinta Inn and Suites in Manchester is that when it comes to getting information about a tour site, investigative journalists would be put to shame by the GSAs.
Not only do the GSAs ask the basic questions like how many rooms (109), is there a free shuttle to and from the airport (yes), is there a complimentary breakfast and wifi (yes), but they went deeper wanting details on the rooms (79 rooms with 2 queen-size beds and 27 with one king-size bed and three 2-room suites)...

Relive Historic Manchester NH at Millyard Museum
by Lorry Young, GSA Radisson Class 2006
One of my favorite places to recommend to visitors when visiting Manchester, NH is to enjoy the history of the Millyard Museum. They house permanent collections spanning from prehistoric times to modern day.
Manchester was once the largest mill city in the world producing textiles. The Amoskeag mills existed from 1831 to 1936. Amoskeag Falls is a prominent geographical feature of the nautical landscape in Manchester. "Amoskeag" means "place of many fish" or good fishing place".
