Greetings!
Yea! It's almost Christmas. When I first had my daughter, I thought that kids being spoiled at Christmas was a result of the kid demanding tons of stuff... now I know the issue is mine. I have this insane compulsion to give her the world. Luckily for me, my bank account keeps me in check. The hardest part about the budget is that my husband and I want to play with all the cool things they have these days and we have to prioritize our gift giving. ~Kel The March 2013 center calendars open on Saturday, December 1 at 6 a.m. I know, no-one groaned louder than me. I hate it when the 1st of the month lands on a weekend. See you there with a double shot of coffee in hand! What do sled dogs, LaQuinta hotel and "Bye Bye Birdie" have in common?
They are all upcoming educational tours that Eileen has been working on for you. Save these Dates! I will have the info pages up soon and will announce the sign-up opening dates/times in next week's newsletter. January 7, 1-4 p.m.:
Muddy Paws Sled Dog Kennel, Jefferson
February 13, 9-10:30 a.m.: La Quinta Inn & Suites, Manchester
March 21, 7:30 - 10 p.m.: St. Anselm Final Dress Rehearsal of Bye Bye Birdie, Manchester
We are working on some leads for discounted overnight rooms for the Muddy Paws tour. Please let Eileen ( tourprograms@nhgsa.com) know if you would be interested so she can get a rough idea how many rooms we would be looking for.
The Waterville Valley Region Chamber of Commerce has invited GSAs to attend the Valley Snow Fest with Rocky River Ranch, Valley Snow Dogz & Campton Cupboard!
Community-wide open house event for the whole family! The winter festivities will begin at the Visitor Information Center at Exit 28 this Sunday, December 2 at 4 p.m.
Dress warm for a cozy wagon ride to Rocky River Ranch. Meet and greet the lovable Queens and Kings of Valley Snow Dogz. Roast a Campton Cupboard hot dog by the bonfire and end with a yummy s'more treat! Two lucky raffle winners will win a free sleigh ride and sled dog ride. To volunteer at the event or to attend, contact Tamara at 726-3804 exit28chamber@gmail.com I sure hope that one of these folks will be wrapping my gifts this year!! My family is very excited about my learning this skill at the Holiday Gathering at East Hill Farm next week. Maybe they won't need a skill saw to get through all my tape! Makes for a safer holiday in any case... unless my tape compulsion takes control again. | |

GSA Recommendations Blog
We had a very enjoyable lunch at the Sizzle Bistro, which is in the Executive Health & Sports Center. It is newly opened and with its proximity to the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (at the first traffic circle) it seemed like a good place to check out. Between us we order quite a few different items from the menu. When I polled a number of people I got reactions of very good to outstanding, plus a lot of other adjectives I can't remember. The tomato basil soup I had, was excellent along with the burger I shared. And the homemade potato chips were a big hit. The atmosphere was very nice, service was excellent and it seemed like a good value. There was a lovely patio with a tiki bar out near the pool which a couple of us made note of for warmer months. Read more about Sue's lunch with her GSA friends...All GSAs are welcome. If you would like to be on Sue's invitation list for future lunches, email nhgsastaff@gmail.com and put "Lunch with Sue" in the subject line and we will see that she gets your request. NH Visitor Center News Blog The GSAs not only assisted visitors from Australia in finding the best foliage spots to visit during their stay, but they were also able to recover a lost gemstone for the couple. It all started during GSA Jill G's and GSA Jim G's 3-6 p.m. shift at MIC on Thursday, October 2. Diana Reid and her husband were in town for their son's wedding to a New Hampshire woman and stopped in for tips on visiting the mountains in order to experience New Hampshire's beautiful foliage. Read more about how Jill and Jim saved the day...
