Greetings!

If you are scheduled to volunteer at the Keene Pumpkin Festival, please be sure and read all the below orientation information prior to leaving home.

If you are on the fence, take a look through this email to find out more about the event and how things will go. There are still some volunteer openings for the Keene Pumpkin Festival. The event has some fun new activities!

Sign-ups will close Friday at 4pm so please visit the calendars soon.

KEENE PUMPKIN FESTIVAL
WELCOME CENTER ORIENTATION

PARKING INFORMATION
FOR EARLY ARRIVALS
First, those who have signed up for early duty at 8am and 10am. Please be at the Keene Days Inn by 7:40am and 9:40am for the trip downtown as these will be  special shuttles since the shuttle bus runs from 10am to 10pm.

The Days Inn is at 3 Ash Brook Road, Keene NH 03431 off of Rte 9 West headed towards Vermont at the Monadnock Market Place across from the Olive Garden.


WELCOME CENTER LOCATION & GENERAL PARKING INFORMATION
Attached Map Shows Welcome Center Points. The Welcome Center & Information Booth that GSA's will be at will be the far left top corner marked GSA WC & IB (corner of Central Square and Winter Street) and the Bus Drop off and pickup after 10am will be the far bottom middle circle with the B. The pickup and drop off is at the same location. The buses will be marked so that you will know they are going to the Keene Days Inn.
 
Upon arrival at the Welcome Center-Information Booth (Marked IB on Map) GSA's please check in at the Information Center with Jim or Judi, one of us will be on duty there. Upon check in your volunteer assignment will be given.

DRESS CODE
Please remember to dress warm and in layers as we will be outside.

This is an official GSA event. Please wear your GSA uniform. GSA staff shirts, blue pants, GSA name tags, comfortable walking shoes/sneakers, NO handbags or knapsacks. Please use fanny packs.

RESTROOMS
We will have a key for access to the Keene Chamber of Commerce for breaks to warm up and for bathrooms. The bathrooms at the Keene Chamber of Commerce are for GSA Volunteers only and Keene Chamber Board of Directors-Staff that will have their own key. Please make sure that the door is kept locked at all times.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
Greet and Assist with Pumpkin Bringing folks to the correct line for check in;

Invite people to carve and/or adopt carved pumpkins;

Accept the Suggested Donation (adults $5) which will go directly to let it Shine non-profit organization working to keep the Pumpkin Festival tradition alive;

Sell tickets to the Ferris Wheel and Haunted Alley ($5 adults for each and $3 for children each);

Answer Questions & Distribute map/brochures;

Festival MapBrochure: Portalets, Log-ins, Merchandise, Attractions, Schedule, History, Food Vendor Directory, Craft Vendor Directory, Management Teams, Parking and Rules. This will be the main piece of information for the Festival and you will be given one as soon as you check in. It will be our goal to help visitors to use it.
