Dear Friends,

As I write this I just got back from Montana. I went to research for two upcoming books, my next novel The Promise Box and an Amish memoir. I loved being up in Northwest Montana again. I ate Dutch Apple Pie at the West Kootenai Kraft and Grocery. We drove by the Amish schoolhouse during recess and noticed two dozen barefoot Amish children playing volleyball and chasing each other around the schoolyard. Then, later that afternoon, I saw an adorable sight. A young Amish boy was riding his bicycle home. He was barefoot and his hiking boots hung from the handlebars. His lunch pale clattered as it hung on the front of the bike near the wheel. He waved as we passed and my heart warmed.

Speaking of "heart-warming" let me tell you about the other reason I was in Montana. I went to see my 15-month-old grandson Clayton. My goal was to spend as much time with him as possible and spoil him to death. You should have seen my son's face when he walked in and found his son eating a huge cookie and jumping on the couch. That's what grandmas do, right?!

Little Clayton knows four words. Dad, Mom, Num (when he wants food) and Nana. I made sure of that last one! When I look at him I see so much of my son, and so much of my daughter-in-law. He brings me so much joy ...not for anything He's done, but just because of who he is.

Being around Clayton reminded me of God's love. God gets giddy over me, over you, just because we're US. Isn't that amazing?

In addition to researching and visiting family I have a few announcements, too. First is my NEW novel The Memory Jar is being released later this month!

My second announcement is also VERY exciting. I've launched a new community blog: www.notquiteamishliving.com. If you want to learn how to live more simple but not go "Amish" you'll enjoy our posts!

Be sure to read below for information on pre-ordering your copy of The Memory Jar and more information on Not Quite Amish Living!
It's HERE!

I am so excited about the start of my new series Seven Brides for Seven Bachelors with the release of book one -- The Memory Jar.

The Memory Jar doesn't release until later this month, however, you can pre-order here. You can also order the audio version! And if you sign up for Audible.com 30-day free trail membership you can download for FREE!

Lots of review are popping up all over this place, but I love this one from Martha ...mostly because she grew up in the area where the book takes place!

I could almost smell the pinecones and felt like I was transported back to my childhood, running and playing in the woods with my friends or even alone. I loved the tidbits of true info about the area; she tosses in here and there throughout the book. If you ever get a chance to visit the area, you will see one of the most beautiful areas in the USA, in my opinion, but I am slightly biased! =)

Ms. Goyer has done it again, but in a way where she will impact this severely saturated market of light Amish reads. She creates a book with moments of depth to it that will touch your heart and have you seeking love for Sarah and Jathan, as well as peace with the past. It was a truly enjoyable read. I know it will be for you as well!

Not Quite Amish

Maybe you'd like to be Amish...but not quite. You want more peace in your life, in your home, in your family, and in your heart. You want to try a new recipe or pick up a needle and thread. You want to learn to simplify and care for God's green earth (and teach your children to do the same).

I am so blessed with the coolest group of women who blog with me on Not Quite Amish: 7 Amish Authors, 1 Registered Dietician (to healthify Amish recipes), 1 simple fashion blogger, 1 writer focused on faith & the environment, 1 devotional writer, 1 writer who has Amish relatives and speaks Pennsylvania Dutch, and a Ugandan missionary who's living more "Amish" than anyone I know :) Be sure to head over to the site and meet all our wonderful contributors!
Thank You ...

Thank you for taking the time to read this update!
