Bike Rodeo
Our first bike rodeo will take place during 6th grade PE classes on Wednesday, September 21 and Thursday, September 22. We encourage all 6th grade students to ride their bikes to school that day to participate in the rodeo activities. We will have bikes for students to use who might not have one at school. We are excited to partner with the Menlo Park Police Department (MPPD) and others to bring this great activity to our students and encourage student safety while on bicycles.

Bike Rodeo Volunteers Needed
Interested in helping out with our first Bike Rodeo hosted by Officer Ferguson and the MPPD?  We need volunteers to help run, supervise and chaperone bike stations during the event.  Please click here to sign up!

We are also looking for bikes in good condition to use in the bike rodeo. Do you have one of these that you'd like to donate to the school?  Please email Danielle O'Brien for donation information.

Guest Speaker - Houston Kraft
Houston Kraft, motivational speaker and kindness advocate, is coming to Hillview on Tuesday, September 13. Students will attend an assembly about how they can be leaders on campus and strengthen their character through kindness, patience, honesty, and humility. We are so excited to welcome Houston to Hillview and engage our students in how to use their character to create a better campus! Want more information about Houston Kraft and his message?  Click here to check out his website.

Host Family Urgently Needed for Hillview Intern from Spain
Hillview School will host an intern from Spain this year. She is here through the Amity International organization for the school year and needs housing. We are looking for three host families (8-10 week terms) to welcome her into their homes while she works with our children and takes English classes. Please email Liliana Perazich for more information.

School Pictures
School pictures are this Wednesday and Thursday in PE classes. iClickSmiles, our school photographer, will be on campus taking beautiful outdoor photos of each student. Pictures will be taken on Wednesday in periods 1, 3, 5, and 7. On Thursday, periods 2, 4, 6, and 7 will take their pictures. All ordering will be done online and more information will come after picture day about specific ordering instructions. Until then, iClickSmiles has a great website with information on how to make this a great school picture.

**7th period PE students -- please check with your teacher to find out which day is your particular picture day!

Hillview PTO and MPAEF Working Together

2016 AreYouIn
DONATE TODAY!

Thank you to the 348 Hillview families who have donated to the PTO during the first two weeks of school. We appreciate your support!  So far, together we have raised $100,315 which is 56% of the way to our $180,000 goal. As you can see, we have a long way to go in a short amount of time.

If you haven't had the time to donate yet, there are still two more weeks to help us reach our goal - just click here to donate today!

The PTO and the MPAEF continue their joint efforts to make Hillview the best it can be for our kids. To find out more about how your donations help to bridge our district's funding gap read the  Are You IN announcement letter.

When you support the PTO at $250 per child and the MPAEF at $1500 per child, you are making a real difference in all our students' education.  However, any amount gets us closer to our goal.

PTO donations are due by September 30. Please make your gift or pledge to the MPAEF by
November 4. You can also reach out to your PTO Membership Team at
membership@hillviewpto.org  and the MPAEF Ambassadors Team at hillviewmpaef@mpaef.org with any questions.
