Volunteer at the Luau
Help us set up, greet parents and students, or hand out iPads at the E Komo Mai Luau -- anytime between 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29. Shifts are set so you can enjoy the luau with your student, but still assist in this very important event. Click here to sign up.
Volunteer at Hillview Hillview is a community-supported school -- not just with money but with time. Volunteers contribute hundreds and hundreds of hours of time that save our school, and our district, literally thousands of dollars, and free up time for our teachers and administrators to concentrate on what is most important: educating our children. To be able to continue to offer our students the most innovative education in a supportive environment, we need each family to contribute 5 hours of volunteer time per year. There are dozens of ways to share your time with our community -- in a classroom, on campus, or from home. Can you serve hot lunch once a month? Chaperone two dances, or a field trip? Coordinate a special event for a teacher via email from home? Please click here to fill out our volunteer questionnaire or contact PTO Volunteer Coordinator Patti Buck and she will help identify a meaningful way for you to help! Hot Lunch Volunteers Needed
Calling all 6th, 7th and 8th grade parents: we need you to help serve hot lunch! It's less than an hour commitment and one of the best ways to connect with the students during the school day. Sign up to work weekly, every other week, or once a month, the choice is yours. Please email hotlunch@hillviewpto.org to sign up.

New to Hillview? You're invited to the MPAEF's New Family Social
We look forward to welcoming all new parents to a casual Welcome Social at a fellow Hillview family's home on Thursday, September 29, from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. You will meet our principal, Willy Haug, our Superintendent, Maurice Ghysels, and our MPAEF and Hillview PTO leaders; they'll be talking about our amazing school and our community-funded school district. Our goal is to make this a fun and educational evening for you to meet other parents and to hear about what is happening at Laurel and in our District. Drinks and nibbles will be provided. Parents only please. Click here to RSVP.
Welcome from the Hillview PTO and MPAEF
For those returning families, we're happy to see you again, and for the new fam ilies, we're excited to see you around campus. The PTO and MPAEF collaborate to help provide the best education possible for our kids. When you join the PTO, you make possible curriculum enrichment, field trips, community building events, and well-supplied classrooms. When you support the MPAEF, you help our district fund additional best-in-class teachers, credentialed specialists, design-thinking curriculum and technology, and dedicated counselors. The PTO and the MPAEF are the two vital organizations that make a real difference in your child's day and, ultimately, in their education. The MPAEF is a non-profit organization run by parent volunteers. The MPAEF raises funds to support teachers and innovative curriculum at Encinal, Laurel, Oak Knoll, and Hillview. Only 10% of our district's funding comes from state and federal sources, and local property and parcel taxes provide another 80%. The MPAEF provides the additional 8-10% our district needs to maintain an excellent education for all of our students. When you support the PTO at $250 per child and the MPAEF at $1500 per child, all students' education is improved. Click here to learn more about how the PTO's and the MPAEF work to support all of our schools and our district's mission. Together, we INSPIRE in our children a love of learning Together, we INVOLVE ourselves in their learning journey Together, we INVEST in their future PTO donations are due by September 30. Please make your gift or pledge to the MPAEF by November 4. Learn more and to donate to the MPAEF
