Hillview News
Important dates for 8th Grade Parents: An end of the year expectations assembly will be held tomorrow, Monday, March 23, for all 8th grade students. A letter was sent home this past week outlining our expectations for students. Please review them with your child.
Along with learning about end of the year expectations, students will receive their high school registration form from Sequoia district. It requires a parent signature and an elective choice. If you disagree with any of the class recommendations, the time to address this is during the Online Information Update during the first two weeks of May. Please return these forms to Ms. Watts as soon as possible, but no later than Tuesday, March 31. Important: If your student will not be attending a Sequoia district school, you will need to attach an acceptance email or letter from an alternate school to the district registration form and turn that in by the due date. If you have any questions, please email Ms. Watts.
Eighth Grade Graduation Party: The graduation party is an annual celebration funded by 8th grade families. The ceremony, reception and party are free for all students, but every donation helps to send off our 8th graders in grand fashion. Recently letters went out to 8th grade families that did not donate during online registration last summer - please accept our apologies if you received one in error. We are asking for a minimum donation of $50 from parents to support the graduation party. Any contribution above $50 will provide scholarship funding for those with financial constraints. A gift of any size is appreciated, though you need not contribute for your student to attend. Please donate by March 28th online. Questions? Want to help? Please contact Kasia Lewis or Carol Kelly.
M-A Open House for 8th Grade Families: Interested in learning more about M-A? Come to the Open House on Thursday, April 9, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., starting in the M-A PAC. This is a great opportunity for families to meet 9th grade and elective teachers, gather information from a 9th grade Resource Fair, and learn about M-A's many programs. Information will be available about registration and address validation. For more information, please see the attached flyer.
Hillview Middle School 5th Grade Parent Night: All parents and guardians of 5th grade students are invited to attend on Tuesday, April 7, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the Hillview PAC. Meet teachers, learn about middle school transition, attend our Elective Fair and hear about all the great advantages of Hillview's program. See our flyer for more information. Student attendance is optional.
New Link to Report Absences and Tardies: Did you know that it is now possible to report your child's absence or tardy via a form on the Hillview web site? Check out the new link on the left side navigation bar; a link is also on the home page (scroll down below the School Announcements).
