Six parent volunteers are needed to identify and nominate the 2015-2016 Hillview PTO Executive Board Members. The Nominating Committee will consist of three parent volunteers from the west side of town (Oak Knoll), and three parent volunteers from the east side of town (Encinal). The Committee will meet a few times between February and April to identify potential candidates for the Hillview PTO Board Executive Committee slate for the 2015-2016 school year. You may nominate yourself or someone you know to this committee. Please email Dean Wilkins with your nominations.

Immunization Records Required by Friday
|
Hillview 6th Grade Parents: All incoming 7th graders in the 2015-2016 school year are required by law to provide proof of a whooping cough booster or Tdap shot (Td does not meet the requirement). Students will not be admitted to school if proof is not received before the first day of school.
Please bring an updated copy of your child's immunization record showing proof of Tdap to the school office by Friday, January 9, 2015. If there is a verified medical condition against vaccination, you are required to provide the school with a doctor's written statement which must include the specific nature and probable duration of the medical condition. If there is a personal belief for not vaccinating, you are required to obtain a personal belief exemption from your child's physician (form CDPH 8262).

The County Board will be holding a Public Hearing on January 7, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE), 101 Twin Dolphin Dr., Redwood City to discuss an appeal of the Menlo Mandarin Immersion Charter Pertition. The MPCSD School Board unanimously denied the charter petition on November 12, 2014.

The District also received the petitioners' request for District facilities under Proposition 39 on October 31. On December 1, 2014 the District denied the petitoner's request for District facilities under Proposition 39. You can find all Board meeting presentations, reports, and additional information related to the Charter Petition on the District's website.

Mini-Course Help Requested
|
Mini-Course Help Needed: Several of our upcoming Mini-Course planners need parent help in organizing the best program possible for our students.
- Play It As It Lies needs help identifying one or more golf courses willing to host 2-3 foursomes of student golfers for a day or two during the week of April 13 for play and, potentially, instruction from a pro or assistant pro. If you have contacts at a local course and would be willing to put us in touch, please contact Kate Kennedy.
- Video Game Design would love a tour of Electronic Arts. If you or someone you know can make arrangements for us, please contact Pam Fernandes.
- Beyond Scrubs and Stethoscopes is looking for anyone with medical connections in the community that can help out with the minicourse. Please contact Nancy Haight if you can help!
Part of what makes our Mini-Course Program so unique and wonderful is the invaluable support from you, our parent community. We appreciate your help making these experiences possible for our students.
