Safe Routes to School Surveysaferoutes
Parents - the County needs your feedback on Safe Routes to School. MPCSD has a County grant for Safe Routes to School programs such as traffic safety assemblies, bike/walk rodeos,
the KangaDo carpool smartphone app, expanded yellow school bus routes, International Walk/Bike to School Day, and web resources
here.

Start the Survey Please share your thoughts about the Safe Routes to School programs in MPCSD. Deadline for competion is October 31. Questions?

Some Hillview parents have used the parent notification feature of PowerSchool, but, up until now, this feature has not been functioning properly. The district tech office has finally resolved this issue, and parents can now choose to have updates on their student's progress emailed to them periodically as they wish.

To set up notifications, log in to PowerSchool at http://hillview.mpcsd.org. Contact Hillview's front office if you need your parent username and password. In the left hand navigation pane, select "Email Notification." Here, you can choose the information you would like to receive, how often you'd like to receive it, and the email address/addresses to which you'd like the notifications sent.

While parent notifications can be helpful in terms of monitoring your student's academic progress, we recommend that you also work to make your student responsible for "owning" the progress reports. For example, if you want to keep weekly tabs on progress, you could establish a routine where you and your student sit down together and review PowerSchool together. Your student can be the one responsible for initiating this "meeting," and it sends the message that he or she - not you - owns the responsibility for progress monitoring.

MPAEF Presents: "Apply a Powerful

Design Thinking Mindset to Your Everyday"

Wednesday, November 5th: 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Hillview PAC

A Design Thinking mindset has the powerful potential to change many aspects of our personal, family and professional lives, as well as the personal, emotional and academic lives of our children. In fact, our kids have already been discovering its positive impact in classroom and school activities.

Since 2012, our school district has been collaborating with design thinking influencers and innovation-focused leaders. Now, the MPAEF is bringing these individuals together to engage district parents and the larger community in a panel discussion about how this innovation-based, problem-solving practice is applicable and purposeful to all of us.

Come learn these key pillars of Design Thinking as our children experience them in their classrooms. Discover how they extend and apply to areas of our every day:

Empathize first!     Design for delight!     Fail fast; fail often!

This is event is free and open to the entire community! Seating is limited; be sure to reserve your spot today! Click here for your online ticket.
