Welcome back to school!  As you prepare for the new school year, remember to join the PTO and donate, pledge, or set up monthly payments to the Menlo Park Atherton Education Foundation.  These two organizations provide critical financial support for our schools.  Your donations matter!

Camp Hillview - 6th Grade & WEB Leaders

Starting middle school can be an intimidating time - for students and parents.  We want all incoming Hawks to feel welcome and excited for their journey at Hillview.  That's why there is Camp Hillview, our 6th grade orientation program that takes place at the beginning of each school year.  The Camp Hillview Schedule is as follows:

    Hot Lunch

Hot lunch begins the first day of school for 7th and 8th graders (6th graders check Camp Hillview schedule).  Order your student's lunch online at Choice Lunch.  If your child is new to Hillview, you may be asked for a registration code when signing up to order.  The code to use is "Hillview." Serving lunch at Hillview takes less than 12 minutes, but is great way to connect with the kids.  Volunteers arrive 20 minutes early to set up and stay 10 minutes after serving to clean up and stack the lunch bins.  It's less than an hour a week commitment and a fun way to meet other parents and see your kids and their friends at school.  Join us: volunteer@hillviewpto.org.

Scholarly Dress Expectations, aka Hillview Dress Code
Mr. B has asked us to remind you of the Dress Expectations at Hillview.   Assuming many of you are Back-to-School shopping, please keep these guidelines in mind.

Shirts: Straps and sleeves must cover undergarments.  No spaghetti straps, halter tops, racer backs, cut outs, or short tops. No inappropriate logos, advertisements, or similar graphics.
    Shorts/Skirts: Must be mid-thigh.
Pants: No holes or cuts above mid-thigh.  No sagging.  No leggings.

Hillview Dress Expectations will be enforced beginning the first day of school.  The office has plenty of old PE uniforms to loan out to students not meeting the dress code.

Please note that dressing for PE will begin after the first week of school.  More information to come later.

    New Parent Social

Are you a parent of an incoming 6th grader or a student new to Hillview?  Welcome to Hillview!  We are excited to spend a few hours with you at a fellow Hillview family's home.  You will meet and hear from Principal Erik Burmeister and MPCSD Superintendent Maurice Ghysels, as well as from MPAEF and Hillview PTO leaders about our amazing school and our community-funded school district.  We hope that you will join us for drinks, appetizers, and an engaging evening.

RSVP here or via the evite link sent to new families.  The social will take place on Wednesday, August 27 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
