Attention 8th Grade Parents and Students: M-A has required summer reading for all of its English classes.

 

• If your student is signed up for English 1, the two summer reading books are A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier or Sold (students must read one of the two books - their choice)
• If your student is signed up for AS English 1, the two required summer reading books are Ender's Game and Orestes (students must read both books)

The M-A PTA makes it easy for you to buy the books. When you order through the PTA, the books are delivered directly to your child's English class in approximately 3 weeks. If your child is going to attend M-A next year, you can use the attached form to purchase the required summer reading book(s). If you wish to take advantage of this service, simply print the form, calculate the amount owed, write a check for the total made out to "M-A PTA," and return the form and the check to the Hillview office by Friday, May 2. Please consider making a donation as well! The English department uses the donations to purchase books and materials for M-A students.
