Dear Hillview Parents and Guardians,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing for two purposes.
The first is to remind you of the Parent Education presentation THIS WEDNESDAY at 6:30 p.m. As you know, our seventh graders now have their iPads and sixth graders will be given their iPads upon our return from February break. Wednesday's parent education presentation couldn't come at a more appropriate time!
Join us at 6:30 p.m. in the PAC for "Parenting the Digital Generation" by Digital TAT2 founders, Erica Pelavin and Gloria Moskowitz-Sweet. Erica and Gloria will share with us current and important information regarding digital citizenship, online safety, and reputation management. This is a MUST SEE for all Hillview parents. As always, child care is available for all potty-trained children and light snacks are served. Thanks to the PTO and MPAEF for providing this great series!
Additionally, if you have not checked out Mr. Haug's parent education article entitled "APP-Prehension," click on this link " App-Prehension." You don't want to be left out of this important communication regarding the current online trends we are seeing among some of our students.
Lastly, I want to remind you that Mini-Courses are coming soon. Over February break, each parent will receive an important packet via USPS with specific information and forms related directly to your child's Mini-Course. Please read carefully over all of the material and return all completed forms to the Front Office or your child's Launch teacher upon return from February break. Without the necessary paperwork completed, students may not participate in the Mini-Course experience. If you have questions, please email [email protected].
As Mini-Courses approach, we are looking to borrow some specific items from Hillview families. We are in need of portable ping-pong tables and DSLR cameras (in other words, we need digital cameras with interchangeable lenses, not point-and-shoot). If you are able to lend us either of these, please email [email protected]. Thank you for your consideration.
Have a great day and don't forget to BE AWESOME, my friends!

Sincerely,
Erik Burmeister
