Dear Hillview Families,

As a follow-up to last April's "Instagrammar" article, I've written a new installment entitled "App-Prehension." As the title suggests, the apps and social media tools our children use are proliferating at a rapid pace, and as parents we may experience some anxiety about what these tools are, and more importantly, how we can help our students use them responsibly (or perhaps not at all!). "App-Prehension" follows up on "Instagrammar" and breaks new ground by addressing ask.fm, Snapchat, Snap Save, SpyCalc, Vine, and Kik. In addition, the article provides conversation starters for each these apps, plus additional resources.
