Dear Hillview Families,
In this Sunday's newsletter, you will find a link to sign up for upcoming parent-teacher-student conferences, which will be held October 15 - 18. Please note that the Monday of that week, October 14, is a Staff Development Day (no school for students), and that the 15th through the 18th are minimum days, with school ending at 11:45 a.m. Also of note for that week: there is no SamTrans afternoon service, none of our after school support programs are running (including Homework Center, Math Clinic, HawkStars, and Flight School), and no PTO-sponsored after-school classes will be held. After-school sports, however, will have regularly scheduled practices and games.
Hillview uses an online scheduler program, and you will be able to link to it directly from the newsletter. In order to make appointments with your child's teachers, you will need to know our Hillview's top-secret password (hawks), and your student's school-issued ID number. This number can be found on his or her ID card, or you will see it when you log in to PowerSchool. The rest of the process is fairly intuitive. You will also get a confirmation number, which you should record and save. Please note that while we devote four half days to conferencing, it is not possible for our teachers to meet with every parent. We will do our very best to accommodate your desire to meet with us. The scheduler will be open for one week, closing on Sunday, October 13. If you have any difficulty making an appointment, please contact the Hillview office during our normal office hours, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
We look forward to meeting with you and your student (students MUST attend the conference). It will be a great opportunity to review progress, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and set goals.
