New School Meeting |
Please be reminded the MPCSD Board will be having a special Board meeting on Wednesday, May 29, to be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Hillview Performing Arts Center.
Since last summer, our District has been working hard to plan for new enrollment growth. While most California public school districts are experiencing flat or declining growth, we are one of a select few high-performing districts that families are flocking to -- we have grown 40 percent in the past decade.
As you likely already know, the Board has decided to meet this enrollment challenge by opening a fourth elementary school on the District-owned O'Connor site.
At the Wednesday, May 29 special Board meeting, the Board will:
- provide a comprehensive update on the overall work that has taken place
- evaluate the cost/benefit analyses of the options for the O'Connor site
- give direction on the desired size and scope of a potential bond measure
Please refer to Superintendent Ghysels Newsletter sent out by email on Thursday, May 23 for more information.

Last Chance: Teacher/Staff Gifts |
This is the last week to thank your child's teachers by giving to the Hillview Teacher/Staff Gift Fund. All donations are due on Friday, May 31. So far, only 15 percent of all Hillview families have contributed, and we've collected approximately 50 percent of what we raised last year.
Please give this's Gift Fund a boost by visiting PTO website to make a contribution of any size.
All of the funds we collect will be used to purchase gift cards for the 75+ members of the Hillview team. These gifts will be delivered on the last day of school on behalf of the entire Hillview community to thank the staff for another outstanding year. This year, you may contribute online via PayPal. Or, if you prefer to give by check, please make it payable to Tina Bird and mail it her at to 540 Grace Dr., Menlo Park 94025 before May 31.
Thank you for helping recognize our TOP notch Hillview team!

Want to Say Thanks to a Special Teacher?
Pay Them a Tribute!
It's hard to believe it's almost time for many students to say goodbye to our wonderful District. Honor all that they have accomplished by making a Tribute gift in their name to the MPAEF Endowment. Or, looking for a way to show your gratitude to a special teacher who has made an impact on your child? A Tribute gift is the perfect way to say thanks now -- and in the future!
What is the Endowment? It's a permanent resource for professional development in our District. Its goal is to ensure that the best teachers lead our children during their critical elementary and middle school years, establishing a strong foundation for our entire community. For more information on the Endowment, click here.
To make a Tribute gift, please click here and select "Endowment" in the drop-down box. In the Donor Names box, please indicate the name of the Tribute.
