Principal Erik Burmeister was honored as the 2012 Education Multiplier of the Year.
Erik's leadership style reflects the key Multiplier principal of being a "genius maker" by tapping into the collective intelligence of the teachers and staff to create a nimble organization and environment of innovation. Erik was selected from dozens of nominees in K-12 and higher education.
"He has created an environment where teachers feel valued and want to share their ideas. Erik is always open to input. As a result, the overall enthusiasm and creativity at Hillview has skyrocketed this year," said Nancy Marsh, the teacher who nominated Erik.
The Multiplier of the Year award is sponsored annually by The Wiseman Group, a leadership research and development center headquartered in Silicon Valley.

8th Grade Parents: High School Registration
|
Your about-to-be-high-school students will be bringing home a letter early this week which marks the beginning of the high school registration process. Please be on the look out for it. All students must return it signed to their homeroom teacher by Wednesday, March 20.
For those planning on attending a Sequoia District High School, this sheet will be the sole mechanism for them to sign up for elective classes. For those going off to private, charter or other public high schools, a letter of intent or acceptance (or copy of one) must be submitted.
Please help us in helping your student with a smooth transition to high school. Return the requested materials before the March 20 deadline. Thanks so much in advance!

6th Grade Parents: Vaccination Proof
|
All incoming 7th graders in the 2013-14 school year are required by law to provide proof of a whooping cough (pertussis) booster or Tdap shot. (Td does not meet the requirement.) Students will not be admitted to school if proof is not received before the first day of school. If you have not already done so, please bring an updated copy of your child's immunization record to the school office by Friday, May 31. If there is a verified medical condition against vaccination, you are required to provide the school with a doctor's written statement which must include the specific nature and probable duration of the medical condition. If there is a personal belief for not vaccinating, you must come into the school office and sign a personal belief exemption.
Acceptable proof of immunization includes:- Print-out or copy of immunization record from your child's clinic or physician's office
- A copy of the yellow immunization record
- A certification of Tdap booster letter from your child's clinic or physician's office.
All these documents must have your child's name, date of birth, date Tdap was administered and a stamp or physician's signature from the clinic. For more information about the law and whooping cough, visit the District Health Services website or contact Nancy McMahon, Health Services Assistant or call (650) 321-7140 x 5912.
