Kitty Carpenter, our Director of Church and Community Relations, retired from UMCM Suncoast last week.
For four and a half years, Kitty raised funding and fostered strong relationships with volunteers throughout Pinellas County. She educated local churches and community groups on UMCM's programs thereby encouraging their involvement in our mission.
Kitty was a gifted public speaker and writer. UMCM was blessed to have her on our team. We wish her all the best now that "everyday is Saturday!"
Grounded in Faith
When asked to describe her, Kitty's co-workers and friends often turn to her relationship with God. "Her faith is very strong," states Kitty's long-time friend and the Director of QELI Centers at UMCM Suncoast, Dorothy Williams.
Passing on the Torch
Left to Right: Lauren Wolf, Kitty Carpenter, and Joy Jackson
During Kitty's tenure, the programs at UMCM Suncoast expanded so far that it took two new people to cover her former position!
Lauren Wolf is now Community Relations Manager and Joy Jackson is Fund Development Manager.
Everyone at UMCM Suncoast is going to miss Kitty.
Her dedication, patience, and talent has prepared us to go further in alleviating the symptoms and addressing the causes of poverty through Service, Education and Advocacy, thereby making the love of Christ visible and tangible.
