Florida Advocacy Days in Tallahassee, FL.

 

 

Greetings! 

The Florida Legislative session began earlier this month and UMCM Suncoast is heading to Tallahassee for advocacy training.
Advocate for Children
April 6 to 8 marks Florida Advocacy Days @ Children's Week where we have the opportunity to participate in advocacy training then visit with lawmakers and their staff. Training will equip you to advocate on behalf of:
  • Medicaid expansion for the working poor, 
  • Elimination of the waiting period for health benefits for immigrant children with legal residency, 
  • Addressing the growing problem of human trafficking.  
Registration cost is $80.00 and includes all advocacy training, materials, meetings and four meals. If you choose to register through UMCM Suncoast, transportation is covered and lodging is $65 per night, after tax, for one person - share a room with a friend and split the cost!
