Alumni Feature:
Kiana Bullard Brown

Kiana Bullard Brown first came to Wayland's Plainview campus in the Fall 2006 semester. She studied Spanish and graduated in 2010. After graduation she moved to Louisville, Kentucky to begin a three month long volunteer position as an urban missionary with an organization called Love Thy Neighborhood (formerly Hope for Louisville). Her three month stint has quickly turned into four years, and she is now the organizations full time operations manager. Read more about the ministry that Kiana has been apart of since graduation!

2015 Athletic Hall of Honor Inductees

These three individuals were inducted into the Wayland Athletic Hall of Honor during Homecoming 2015.

Director's Message
Dear Fellow Pioneers:

We had a great Homecoming and Parent-Family Weekend Oct. 2-3 and appreciate all who participated. Special kudos to Amber Smith, our assistant in Advancement-Alumni, for her great help in organizing all the activities.

We honored 10 alumni and a longtime faculty member (see related photos above), enjoyed stories from the members of the Honor Class of 1960 at a breakfast, had a wonderful Legacy League Luncheon for Distinguished honorees and graduates of 50 years and more, dedicated the Byron and Leota Hardgrove Endowed Scholarship, enjoyed a cookout on a beautiful evening and had a great turnout for the Parent-Family brunch.

"The Good Doctor" theater production drew appreciative audiences, the Pioneer volleyball team won a couple of matches, we had a nice pep rally on Friday evening and the Pioneers lost a tough football game to Arizona Christian.

Congratulations to junior sports medicine major KyLee Shultz of Sudan on being named Homecoming Queen by vote of the student body.

About the only damper was some rain and lightning which forced us to forego recognizing the Distinguished Alumni honorees and Athletic Hall of Honor inductees at halftime of the game. The band put on a nice performance at the end of the game.

We hope all you folks in the Class of 1966 will make plans to attend Homecoming next year with the dates to be announced in early 2016.

Please stay in touch and blessings to you and yours.
