Did you know ...
- There will be one million more computing jobs than students over the next 10 years?
- More than 50 percent of all projected math and science occupations are in computing occupations?
- Computing occupations are among the highest-paying jobs for new graduates
We know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. But only a tiny fraction of us are learning computer science.
That's why we are joining in on the largest learning event in history:
Computer Science Education Week (December 7-11)
Students in CTE classes will be participating during their class time on
Thursday, December 10th, but it's open to everyone.
Simply go to http://code.org/learn and sign up! There are tutorials for ages with characters/games they are familiar with - Elsa and Anna from Frozen, Flappy Birds, Star Wars, Minecraft, and many more!
