Congratulations to the DHS Marching Band for finishing
1st PLACE IN CLASS AAA at the Lafayette Marching Classic on Saturday!
The band competed against some of the best programs from Cobb, Henry, and Dekalb County. This makes the band UNDEFEATED in their class for the season!
In addition, the band made DHS HISTORY by being selected as one of 8 finalists out of all 19 bands from Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, regardless of class.
This was the first time in school history that the marching band has been selected as a finalist, at ANY competition, EVER!
If you still haven't seen these incredible students perform their competitive show yet, come see them AND support our football team and cheerleaders this Friday at the Varsity game vs. Mountain View (pink out!).

Garden at Bunten Road Park
DHS students have the opportunity to go out on Community Skills twice a week to Bunten Road Park. Our students are in charge of a class garden where they grow vegetables that eventually will be taken home to their families.
Our students have really taken ownership of the garden and are learning some very important life skills. The picture above shows them hard at work in the garden!
