 Joseph Portillo

Olympic Swimming Trials Qualifier!

Please congratulate Senior Joseph Portillo for qualifying for the 2016 US Olympic Swimming Trials to be held in the summer of 2016!

Joseph is currently ranked the 5th fastest 200 breaststroker in the nation (17 and under) and his 5th place finish at the Speedo Junior National Championships this summer and his time that he swam earned him a spot in the Olympic Trials.

This is a tremendous accomplishment, as only the Top 1% of all swimmers make the Olympic Trials with a chance to make the US Olympic team for the summer games in Brazil. He is also close to making his time for the 100    Breaststroke as well.

Joseph is the 3rd Duluth boy swimmer to qualify for the Olympic Trials in the last 15 years (Tim Montgomery and Mason Norman are the other two).

The times standards came out last week and we wanted to share this good news with the Duluth family.
