 Applications are now being accepted for the 2014 Fine Arts Scholarship sponsored by the Duluth Fine Arts League. Three scholarships will be awarded & are offered to students planning on a Fine Arts major in a college or university for the Fall 2014 school term. Applicatins are available in the DHS Main Office of the 600 building or online at the DFAL website.
 
    DHS Community Scholarship
 

The Duluth Community Scholarship is now available online-Applications are due Wednesday April 2, 2014. This is a very unique opportunity--financial need based scholarship-only for students at DHS.

Attention Seniors!

  

Senior dues are $100. Dues include: tickets to graduation; cap; gown; tassel; stole; diploma; cover; sunglasses; lanyard. Senior dues have nothing to do with Junior dues.

 

Dues paid by April 1, 2014 - no late fee. Dues may be paid at - www.gabalfour.com

DHS Students Selected for Honors Orchestra

 

   
  

Congratulations to DHS senior

 Huijeong Lee (violin) and junior Nick Pelletier (viola) who performed with the National High School Honors Orchestra in Louisville, Kentucky March 5-7. Led by internationally acclaimed conductor Gary Lewis, the orchestra performed all four movements of the Shostakovich 5th Symphony and was made up of wind, brass, and string students from across the country chosen by competitive audition.

 

Huijeong and Nick were 2 of 3 students selected to represent Georgia. The event involved three days and nights of intensive rehearsals followed by a concert in the Louisville Symphony's Concert Hall. The orchestra was part of the American String Teachers Association national convention.
