Hello Graduate Students of Northeastern University and a very happy Tuesday to you all! Now that school is in full swing and you are all (presumably) settled in and very busy, we here at the Office of Graduate Student Life thought that it would make your lives so much easier if we found all the helpful tips and techniques for you to aid in your success here at Northeastern University.

In case you missed it...

Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) kicked off this past weekend at InnoWeekend and the Global Entrepreneurship Week Photo Challenge is ON! This is an opportunity for ANY member of the Northeastern Community to share a photo, illustration, or design inspired by the theme of "entrepreneurship" Follow me for more information and how you can submit your designs!

Have some down time...?
We suggest a few interesting articles and quick reads to begin your week: In the first, Elizabeth Keenan, columnist at Vitae, shares her *new* list of Bad Advice Grad Students Get. We're sure you've had your share of "advice" given to you as a grad student, but here, Keenan gives some even better advice. Maybe you can relate to a few? The next article by David Shorter, Welcome to Graduate School is a great article touching on 6 key lessons to help master's and doctoral students alike thrive in their first year.

If you have any questions, suggestions or content for the News, or questions or comments about graduate student life, feel free to contact Dan Volchok, Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Life and Global Connections at [email protected]
