In addition to bringing news and information about graduate student life at Northeastern, the Graduate Student News will also highlight articles and research from outside the university that is relevant to all graduate students. A recent article, written by a PhD at the University of Florida, details 5 Campus Resources Every Graduate Student Should Use. Another article, Your First Year in a PhD. Program provides some great advice as you start your graduate program. While focused on PhD students, much of their advice is applicable to Masters students as well.
One theme carried through both articles is engagement. In addition to being engaged in your classes and academic department, graduate students should engage with the University through activities, events, programs and services. Many of these activities are listed in each newsletter. Feel free to contact the Graduate Student Life office (d.volchok@neu.edu) if you have suggestions or ideas specific to Northeastern.
Have a great Thanksgiving break!
