Partnerships with Extension
CASLE has the privilege of operating in conjunction with Mississippi State Extension Service. With this relationship, CASLE seeks to form partnerships between Extension agents who are already working in communities across the state and service-learning classes. Extension agents are essential to our goal of effectively serving Mississippi. They can act as Community Partners or as points of contact for members of the community with which service-learning classes will be conducting their projects. Extension agents are valuable assets for CASLE, service-learning students, and the state.

Comments from Our Faculty
"The Extension agents working with my TESOL class have been an incredible resource for my students. Not only did they identify specific projects where we could contribute our expertise, they also arranged meetings with community members and showed us around their towns so that we had a better feel for the communities' needs. Such hands-on experience enables my students to take on roles beyond students in the classroom and become more active researchers, consultants, and teacher trainers."
