SAT - 7:00AM
(Longer mileage run - water dropped at the halfway point)

RunWell is an Official Drop Site for Medals4Mettle!
Medals4Mettle (M4M) is a non-profit organization that facilitates the gifting of marathon, half marathon, and triathlon finishers' medals. Runners from around the world give their hard earned medals to Medals4Mettle.
Our worldwide network of physicians and volunteers then awards these medals attached to a Medals4Mettle ribbon to children and adults fighting debilitating illnesses who might not be able to run a race, but are in a race of their own just to continue to live their life.
It is in honor of this mettle and courage in bravely facing these challenges that they are awarded a medal.

At RunWell, your proper shoe fit is our main focus. It all starts when your foot hits the pavement. We realize that proper alignment is the key to injury prevention. Everyone on our staff are runners. They are trained on shoe fit, foot pronation, foot type, and product technology. We work closely with local physical therapists, podiatrists and chiropractors, to provide a full-service network of experts to serve our running community. We understand the latest advances in technology and select your shoes based on this technology and your biomechanics.

Meet our Team!!
An RRCA certified running coach, Certified Shoe-fit Specialist, President/Owner of RunWell, LLC. With over 9 years of coaching experience; I have coached hundreds of runners to their first, fastest or farthest run. I've been analyzing foot type, shoe fit, gait cycle, running form, and cadence of runners for 9+ years. Additionally, I have 24 years of running experience; completing 29 marathons, including Pike's Peak Marathon and the Boston Marathon, with the goal of running a marathon in all 50 states. I compete in countless road and trail races at all distances (Ultra-marathon, marathon, half-marathon, 10K, 5K, etc.) every year! I completed the iron distance triathlon in 2010 and ran my first 50-Mile Ultra Marathon at Michigan North Country 2012 - placing third in division! I love anything that involves nature and exercise!
A native of Petersburg, Illinois, joined the RunWell team in September 2013. In August 2010, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Community Health Education from SIUE. I worked for a physical therapy clinic for two and a half years before heading back to SIUE to pursue a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology. While at SIUE, I competed for the Cross Country and Track and Field Teams. The running world keeps me busy; I am an assistant coach for the Cross Country Team at SIUE, and I continue training for road races. I ran my first marathon this spring and plan to run another!

This is an off-road, cross country style race through the beautiful, wooded xc trails at SIUE. Run it as an individual, or 4-person team! There will be individual and team awards, music, pie, long-sleeved, performance shirts, and possibly a bonfire! There will be PIE!

Shane Perrin professional stand up paddleboarder and founder of SUP St. Louis. Shane is currently working on a documentary of his amazing 340-mile paddle on a stand up paddleboard (SUP) down the Missouri River from Kansas City to St. Charles in October 2011. Shane competed in the 6th annual Missouri River 340 and became the first person to attempt, as well as, first to complete the race on an SUP. This historic achievement contributed greatly to his rise to fame in the stand up paddling community, and it propelled him to accomplish further incredible feats on an SUP. Shane will show us his documentary and share his story with us! Shane will begin training for a 1,000 mile race later this year!! Come out and meet him!

This months feature is The Runner - David Horton's 2,700 mile run of the Pacific Crest Trail. David Horton is an EXTREME ultrarunner, to say the least. Desert sun, snowbound mountain passes, pain, emotion
, revelation. Join him as he runs more than 40 miles per day for 66 consecutive days in an attempt to set a speed record. Follow his adventure! We will have the popcorn machine crankin'! I've gotten better at the recipe too! The popcorn was awesome!

Recliner to Runner Group
18 trainees kicked off our Fall Recliner to Runner session and are now in Week #8! They started out running for 60 seconds, 5 times.....Now they are running for 40 minutes NON-STOP! Each week, we will go a little farther, and learn something new related to running. As part of our Program, we went through a cross training routine with Erica at Complete-Fitness in Edwardsville! We received a Function Movement Screening from Christal and Jared with Accelerate Health & Fitness! We also had a personal safety discussion, nutrition, injury prevention, form/gait, race preparation and MORE! We have our goal race picked out - The Maryville Turkey Trot on November 16th! Bring it on! We are ready!
We will be kicking off another Recliner to runner session in the Spring! Get on the list NOW! Groups fill up fast.
