Candidate Packets (8) submitted to the Orinda City Clerk's Office by the July 6, 2015 5pm deadline are now available for viewing
The Orinda City Council is seeking applications to fill the City Council position vacated by Steve Glazer. The term will begin on the date of appointment and continue through December 6, 2016.
The Council will be looking for an individual who has a thorough understanding of the issues facing the City and who can demonstrate a history of active civic leadership, community service and engagement in Orinda. In addition to regular Council business, the individual selected must be available to actively participate as a Council liaison to numerous external agencies and organizations as well as Orinda Commissions.

The City Council will conduct interviews during an open public meeting on Wednesday July 15, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Library Auditorium and anyone/everyone is welcome to attend! Process:
City Council Candidates will now:
Make a 5-minute opening statement and be available for questions at a Special City Council Meeting on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 beginning at 6:00pm.
The City Council will consider all applications and may make an appointment at the July 15, 2015 Special Meeting or at a subsequent meeting prior to the July 27, 2015 deadline.
The new City Council member would tentatively be sworn into office at the July 21, 2015 City Council Meeting.

Contra Costa County is Seeking Volunteers for
County Advisory Boards
The County Board of Supervisors is looking for interested, motivated residents to serve on a few Contra Costa County citizen advisory boards. These voluntary boards usually meet monthly and advise the Board of Supervisors on a variety of issues. Volunteers play a vital role in county government.
Applications are currently being accepted from residents of District 2 for seats on the following boards:
District 2 includes: Alamo, Canyon, Danville, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Parkmead, Rossmoor, San Ramon, Saranap, Walnut Creek (West of N. Main Street)
- Arts and Culture Commission of Contra Costa County - Advisory body to the District 2 Supervisor on matters and issues relevant to Arts and Culture, to advance the arts in a way that promotes communication, education, appreciation and collaboration throughout Contra Costa County
- Make recommendations to the BOS regarding the IHSS program.
- Countywide Bicycle Advisory Committee - Advisory body to the Board of Supervisors and the Public Works Department on the needs of the County on bicycle projects for Transportation Development Act (TDA) funds to construct bicycle/pedestrian projects and also provide advice to cities and the County on bicycle planning matters.

Fire Chief, Stephen Healy, will attend a meeting at Saint Stephen's Church to discuss the fire and medical emergency services to the Orinda and Moraga communities, and he will address the proposed agreement with Contra Costa County for a new station.
The meeting will be held on Saturday, July 25 from 10:00am to 11:00am.
