Public Works and Engineering Services
BART Station and Wayfinding Signs: Last week at the regularily scheduled Public Works Aesthetic Review Committee (PWARC) meeting, members received presentations from BART and the City Engineering staff on two projects designed to improve signage at and from the Orinda BART station. BART is in the process of installing new information and direction signs within the station and in front of the station. Their plan is to have the new signs in place later this year. At the same time the City is developing a plan to install new directional (Wayfinding) signs to direct people from the BART station to destinations in the Village and Crossroads/Theater sides of the City. The City's consultant presented suggested locations and two preliminary recommendations for graphics and colors. This was the first time for the City's design team to receive input from PWARC. The consultant will meet with PWARC to present a refined recommendation in the next few weeks.
