The 2014 project is now essentially completed. Last week the contractor completed the traffic striping on all the roads, this week they will be raising manholes and water valves.

Citizens' Infrastructure Oversight Commission (CIOC) - On Wednesday the CIOC met, discussed, and selected the roads that will be repaired in 2015 using the Measure J bond funds. This first Measure J list will spend the first $5,000,000 of the $20,000,000 bonds approved by the voters in June. This recommended list will be presented to the City Council on November 5 for approval. The roads improvements will be designed this winter with construction scheduled for the spring of 2015. The CIOC also discussed and approved making urgent repairs to spot areas on Bear Creek Road, Darnby Court and Bobolink. These repairs will be made using a portion of $100,000 that is set aside annually by the CIOC, for this use, from the Annual Paving Program.

OTAC's mission is also to give back, serving our city's constituents by participating in community service, nature clean ups, marketing and collecting items for a monthly charity drive (canned foods, jackets, school supplies, sports equipment, etc.) that is selected each month by the members and then donated to a local charity. Another responsibility of OTAC members is organizing and running fun events for our teens such as movie nights, dodgeball, capture the flag, and talent shows. Meetings take place at the Orinda Community Center on the first Monday of every month from 4pm-5pm.

The Contra Costa Transportation Authority believes that the future success of Contra Costa County lies in the ability to ensure safe, reliable mobility for all. To prepare ourselves for the challenges of the future, the Authority and its partners, the Regional Transportation Planning Committees (RTPCs), are updating the Countywide Transportation Plan (CTP) and the Action Plans for Routes of Regional Significance on which the CTP relies.

As part of the CTP process, CCTA wants to know what transportation issues you think are important so they can prioritize where to spend valuable time and resources. This is your chance to share your ideas for new transportation projects and programs in Contra Costa.

There are many ways to help shape the 2014 Countywide Transportation Plan:
