Public Works
2014 Paving Projects: The City Council approved awarding the 2014 Annual Paving Project and Measure L Paving Project construction contract to Ghilotti Bros. of San Rafael. Construction should start in late July. Staff will notify the community in the next few weeks of the location and duration of the construction activity.
Traffic Safety Advisory Committee (TSAC): The Traffic Safety Advisory Committee (TSAC) reviewed and approved a traffic calming plan along Brookwood Road (west of Camino Pablo) to install speed cushions at two separate locations, approximately 200 feet south of the intersection of Camino Pablo and in front of the residences at 66-70 Brookwood Road. A speed feedback sign is also proposed in the downhill (eastbound) direction near 38 Brookwood Road. The next step will be conducting a neighborhood advisory vote of all property owners fronting along Brookwood Road between Camino Pablo to the hairpin turn onto Spring Road (approximately 30 property owners). If the neighborhood vote approves the proposed traffic calming measures, this project will be recommended by TSAC to the City Council for review and funding. Currently the preliminary project estimate is $29,000 without contingency. The residents along Brookwood Road are requesting that the City fund the project without any neighborhood contributions.
Public Works:
- Public Works completed trimming the lower branches on sycamore trees on Orinda Way for proper pedestrian and vehicle clearance.
- Curve and intersection warning signs on Loma Vista, Lomas Cantadas and El Toyonal were replaced
- "Drains to Bay" markers on drainage inlets were installed on drainage inlets
