Below Market Rate Homes at Orinda Grove
Framing of the first two below market rate (BMR) homes in the Orinda Grove project began last week. Pulte anticipates completion of the two homes by summer 2014. In the meantime we continue to receive initial applications and inquiries about the BMR homes and have received 15 as of January 23, 2014. Eight of the 15 initial applications indicate that at least one member of the household is locally employed. If you are interested, the initial application deadline is February 18, 2014. More information may be found at: www.cityoforinda.org.

Manzanita Bridge

To celebrate the completion of the new bridge, a ribbon cutting has been scheduled at the bridge for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014
All are invited to attend this special event.
The project replaced the existing bridge with a new 3-span bridge consisting of a 34-foot wide by 76-foot long cast-in-place concrete slab superstructure, on cast-in-drilled-hole concrete piles, concrete abutments, and concrete pile extensions.
This project was undertaken to provide safe access to approximately 200 homes to the northeast of San Pablo Creek and auxiliary EBMUD facilities. Built in 1937, the old bridge had been deemed seismically unsafe, had a deck within a flood zone, and did not meet current standards. The replacement bridge alleviates hydraulic, structural, and alignment deficiencies, provides a five-foot higher elevation to avoid flooding and improve flood water flow, and provides a pedestrian sidewalk on the south side of the bridge.
The City of Orinda would like to thank the residents for their understanding and patience during this bridge replacement project. The City plans to have a ribbon cutting at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 10, 2014. Please join us in celebrating the official opening of this new bridge that will safely provide vehicular and pedestrian access to the neighborhood.
If you have any questions, please contact
or (925) 253-4252.
Thank you again for your patience through to the completion of this vital project.
