New Smart Phone Application Gives Orinda Residents Instant Access to Emergency Response Information

Have you ever heard the sound of approaching sirens and wondered "what's going on?" Now Orinda residents can have their smart phone notify them when Moraga-Orinda Fire District (MOFD) units are dispatched. "PulsePoint" is an application for IOS and Android phones that allows users to set up notifications, locate active emergency incidents on a map, see where the nearest Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) is and even listen to the firefighter's live radio traffic. Best of all the application is free!

To install the PulsePoint application simply search PulsePoint in the Apple App Store or in Android Apps on Google Play.

Staying informed about what's going on around you is one of FEMA's three key elements for personal emergency preparedness - Have a Plan, Make a Kit, Stay Informed!

For more information contact the Orinda Citizen Corps Council at orindaccc@cityoforinda.org or Dennis Rein, Lamorinda's Emergency Preparedness Coordinator at Moraga-Orinda Fire District at drein@mofd.org.
