Alumni Association President's Message
|
Many of you know John Nishimoto, O.D., '87 - a pretty reserved guy. He's a good friend of mine AND he's also the Vice President and Dean of Interprofessional Health Studies at Marshall B. Ketchum University. So I was surprised recently to hear a very animated John say that he was passionate about helping to transform the College into a health sciences University. He's really energized! That's what this change into a University is doing to people - getting us to think big. Makes one proud to be an alumnus of such a forward-thinking institution, doesn't it? Hope to see many of you at the upcoming Shared Visions Gala and V-Awards where more details will be forthcoming.
- Charles Luu, O.D., '86, Alumni Association President, 2013-2015
P.S. John Nishimoto is happy to answer any questions you might have about the new programs. jnishimoto@ketchum.edu. |

Pre-Optometry Students Alumni Shadowing Network
The Alumni Association Board is still seeking optometrists interested in participating in our new Pre-Optometry Students Alumni Shadowing Network. This is a great opportunity to share your professional experience and insight with prospective students. We are particularly in need of optometrists in the counties surrounding the University. If you are able to spend a few hours with one or more students at your office, at your convenience, please provide your contact information and address to alumni@ketchum.edu. Thank you!
Name Change
The University just received a very generous bequest gift of $148,950 from the estate of alumnus, Theodore V. Nelson, O.D., '39. If you have SCCO as a beneficiary in your will, trust, retirement or insurance instrument, please consider updating to Marshall B. Ketchum University. We expect you to live long and healthy lives but wish to make it easy on the executor of your estate.
