Sophomore Family Newsletter
|
Dear W&M Families,
Campus may seem calmer this time of the year, but we are hard at work preparing for students to return in August. The Global Education Office is planning trips abroad, the Cohen Career Center is expanding their staff to fit your students' needs, and Residence Life is getting the halls ready for your students return.
As for Parent & Family Programs, we are excitedly planning Family Weekend. This year it will be held Friday, September, 25th, through Sunday, September 27th. Will you be joining us? Registration opens early July, so be on the lookout!
As always, thank you for all you do for your students and the College.
Regards,
Mark Sikes, Ph.D.

Planning for a Semester Abroad
| W&M currently offers 20 different exchanges and sponsored semester programs around the world, from Nottingham, England to Adelaide, Australia. If your student is considering studying abroad for a semester or an academic year, summer is a great time to start planning. Have questions? Throughout the summer, the Global Education Office will hold walk-in hours from 11am-5pm, Monday-Friday. |
Enroll or Waive your coverage Today!
| The College requires all full-time undergraduate and graduate students and all F-1/J-1 international students to have health insurance coverage throughout the school year as a condition of enrollment. Each academic year, students must either elect to enroll or waive the W&M-sponsored Student Insurance Plan to comply with this requirement.
Please visit Student Insurance for more information. |
Cohen Career Center staff is growing!
|
The Cohen Career Center has been busy filling current and newly-created positions, and will welcome students in the fall with an expanded staff. Virginia Damron started in January in the new position of Assistant Director, Accounting and Finance Careers. Sean Schofield began his position of Assistant Director, Internship Coordinator in May. Chiquita Geldorp will be filling the newly created position of Assistant Director, Marketing Careers in June. eServices and Student Accounts
|

Begin the new academic year by being informed and prepared! Check with your student to be sure you are set up as an Authorized User in eServices. This will allow you to receive eStatement notifications, have access to view and pay the W&M student account and enroll in the monthly Tuition Payment Plan.
Restrictive holds will be placed on all W&M Student Accounts that are not paid or covered by financial aid, scholarships or the Tuition Payment Plan on August 4th. This will prevent your student from registering for classes or making any registration changes. Payments can be made in several ways.
