One Stop Drop Recycling Event
Have you ever wondered what to do with all of those items that just don't fit in with your curbside bin
recyclables? Things like packing peanuts, bubble wrap, pens, markers, and the many outdated electronics we all have around the house can all be recycled at the One Stop Drop. This drive-thru recycling event is FREE at the Cincinnati Whole Foods on Saturday October 18th! 

Check out a full list of acceptable items and start doing a little autumn house cleaning! Click here for more information. 

Also taking place at Whole Foods this Month: On Wed, October 15 Whole Foods will donate 5% of all sales to Oakley Recycles! Do yourshopping and support a great cause at the same time. Thanks Whole Foods, we are glad you love recycling so much.

This month's sustainability social gathering was held at Mecklenburg Gardens, a historic restaurant in Corryville and hosted by the Local Food and Meet Me Outdoors Action Teams. There was a great turnout and we all had a lot of fun! Click the image for more photos!

Driftwood Institute Raises Money for Taking Root Tree Planting Campaign
The Driftwood Institute raised over $1,000 for the Taking Root Tree Planting Campaign with the sale of Ohio and Licking River driftwood sculptures.  The funds will be earmarked by the Taking Root campaign to pay for the planting of trees in Covington, Kentucky!

The
Driftwood Institute is an ongoing NKU Ecological Stewardship Institute initiative that combines education, creativity and ecology to naturally beautify the riverbank and transform it into a more ecologically sound place while serving as a model of trans-disciplinary research.

Xavier University Presents Blue Revolution: A Water Ethic for America October 19th
Author and journalist Cynthia Barnett will discuss Water Justice and how Americans can "come together to use less and pollute less" by embracing water ethics. 

The FREE event will take place at the Xavier University Conaton Board Room on October 19, from 7:00 - 10:00pm. For more information, click here.
